Accelerate Your Scan-to-BIM Workflow with Direct Import/Export Capabilities

Accelerate Scan‑to‑BIM with the Point Cloud Importer Exporter for Revit, a seamless plugin that lets you import and export leading point cloud formats without leaving Revit.

Legacy workflows often require external converters that add time, cost, and risk. By centralizing both import and export inside Revit, this connected workflow simplifies complex pipelines, minimizes handoffs, and preserves fidelity across your entire Scan‑to‑BIM lifecycle.

Direct Point Cloud Import in Revit (No ReCap Required)

Eliminate multi‑tool conversions, reduce errors, and keep your team focused on modeling. Bring in raw scans from terrestrial, mobile, or drone workflows using direct point cloud import in Revit.

By bypassing third-party processing steps, you can instantly load raw scan data to build accurate as‑built context directly in Revit.

Supported Import Formats: Enjoy broad device and platform compatibility by importing the following raw formats directly:

.E57, .PLY, .LAS, .LAZ, .TXT, .PTS, .XYZ

Seamless Point Cloud Exporter for Revit

Need to push structured outputs to open formats for downstream coordination and QA? Our built‑in point cloud exporter takes your active RCP/RCS data and converts it for open exchange and archival.

Supported Export Formats: Export from RCP/RCS to interoperable formats for QA tools, archives, and analytics:

.E57, .PLY, .LAS, .TXT, .PTS, .XYZ

Core Benefits for Your Scan-to-BIM Lifecycle

Our end‑to‑end Revit workflow reduces multi‑step conversions across external tools and formats, delivering measurable ROI:

Faster Delivery: Reduce conversion cycles by performing point cloud import and export in one Revit session.
Higher Accuracy: Avoid lossy hops between tools and keep consistent coordinate systems and scan metadata.
Better Collaboration: Share exports in E57, LAS, or PLY for easy handoff to QA, clash, or visualization teams

Who Benefits from this Plugin?

Improved collaboration by standardizing import/export inside one Revit interface empowers the entire project team:

Architects: Speed up context modeling with trusted point cloud importer for Revit workflows.
Engineers: Standardize point cloud exporter outputs for analysis, simulations, and documentation.
Contractors: Share open formats for field validation and progress verification. Deliver neutral E57 and LAS packages to owners and project partners.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How do I import a point cloud into Revit using this plugin? It takes just one step. Click Import Point Cloud, select single or multiple files (such as E57 or LAS), and place your scan with consistent coordinates for rapid modeling.

Can I export my Revit point cloud back to an E57 or XYZ file? Yes. Choose your Revit RCP/RCS point cloud and output to E57, PLY, LAS, TXT, PTS, or XYZ in one step. This is ideal for exporting RCP/RCS to E57/PTS/XYZ for analysis in external QA or comparison tools.

Does this plugin automate point cloud to Revit conversions? It acts as the critical bridge for automation by allowing direct point cloud importer for Revit supporting E57, PLY, LAS, LAZ, TXT, PTS, and XYZ for fast model context.
