ML webinar

When it comes to Machine Learning and its adoption in the construction industry, the resistance is higher than the will to adopt. However, the present-day circumstances are a blessing to fast track this mindset and move on to the technologies that sharpen the actual work in hand with more efficiency, creativity, and focus.

AI and ML do more than just save costs, time, and manual labour. It can help with Risk Mitigation, Make Job Site Safer and Productive, Improve the Quality of Designs, Increase a Project’s Life Cycle among other advantages.

One of the reservations against this technology is hidden in the name itself; ‘Machine’ Learning. The common notion circles back to ‘Machine’ substituting the ‘Man’. However, ML-powered solutions can only enrich the work of the ‘Man’ with the help of the ‘Machine’ in the construction industry.

So if you are ready to learn more about these tools and jump into the bandwagon of the Construction technology that is Today and Tomorrow of the industry, join us in uncovering 5 practical Machine Learning Solutions that help the construction industry scale their business.

In this Tech Meet, we are going to talk about the following ML tools:

  1. ML-powered Scan to BIM
  2. ML-powered Floor Detection in PDF
  3. ML-powered OCR
  4. ML-powered BIM Voice Assistant
  5. ML-powered Safety solutions- Mask/No Mask

To help you take this leap of faith into using the tools, we are going to be joined by the CEO of KTrack, Owen Knott whose organization has employed one of the above ML tools and is benefitting greatly. He will share his insights on the tool and some significant advantages of adopting the technology.

Join us to learn how partners have been automating their BIM (Building Information Modelling) standards and checking processes and learn how you can take advantage of these automation processes too.

Featured Panelists include:

Our CEO & Co-founder at nCircle, Varun Bhartiya, will demonstrate a BIM automation where every time a BIM model is uploaded in BIM360, Model Rule Checker runs on that file automatically (just need to set once) and checks for BIM standards (selected and set for checking by the user) and sends an email notification to the user with results (PASS/FAIL) which can viewed in the FORGE viewer.

Frank Schuyer, CEO and Founder of Xinaps will be the other panelist at the event. He will share details on their cloud-based model checker for AEC industry professionals, called Verifi3D. The solution helps professionals improve the quality of their data, streamline their workflow, and optimize data validation processes.

Reforming AEC to emerge successfully from COVID19 Part 2: Onsite Construction

Reforming AEC to emerge successfully from COVID19 Part 2: Onsite Construction

Date

21st May 2020, Thursday

Time

10.30 PM IST | 6.00 PM BST | 12.00 noon CDT | 10:00 AM PDT

Description

The Corona Virus pandemic is a force majeure situation (an act of nature) which is creating a huge economic recession and the situation in the AEC industry is no way different from others.

Delay in projects, supply chain disruption, workers Safety, WFH and communication issues, legal obligations, etc. the list is pretty long. The wait for old normalcy is indecisive.

So how do we make the best out of the situation? What are some of the steps that we can take to get our businesses up and running? What’s the new normal post COVID19? How should we go about working with our respective organizations to emerge successfully from COVID19?

The CoronaVirus pandemic is a force majeure situation (an act of nature) which is creating a huge economic recession and the situation in the AEC industry is no way different from others.

Delay in projects, supply chain disruption, workers not available, WFH and communication issues, legal obligations, etc. the list is pretty long. The wait for old normalcy is indecisive.

So how do we make the best out of the situation? What are some of the steps that we can take to get our businesses up and running? How should we go about working with our respective organizations to emerge successfully from COVID19?

The broader answer lies in technology-led transformation. This Panel Discussion (Part2) covers Technological aspects for Onsite Construction:

  • Construction Business landscape post COVID
  • Modular Construction and Sequencing onsite
  • New ways of Onsite Inspection
  • Workers’ safety and Contact Tracing
  • New ways of Onsite Coordination (Takt planning)
  • Paperless Construction

In AEC there are use cases like :
Scan to BIM
Automatic check for government regulations.
Predictive UI

In Manufacturing:
Automatic feature recognition
Estimation for Costing and delivery timeline

All of these are focused on making human time available for high value and high impact tasks. The potential for creating smarter workflow automation is infinite.

Modern computer vision algorithms can easily handle 3D and 4D Data which enhances the capabilities of BIM in construction or helping engineering to adapt to Industry 4.0.
Machine Learning is here to stay and change the way we work for the better
